At Prima Boats, the sea is more than a workplace. It is where we spend our days, where our clients create unforgettable memories, and where we feel most at home.
But our connection to Mallorca’s coastline does not end when the boating season slows down. In fact, during the quieter winter months, our relationship with the sea takes on a different meaning.
When activity on the water decreases, we take the opportunity to enjoy nature from another perspective. Winter is the perfect time for coastal hikes, long walks along the cliffs, and discovering Mallorca’s shoreline without the summer crowds.
Together with our dog Llum, we often explore the southwest coast near Port d’Andratx. These walks allow us to reconnect with the landscape that defines our daily work during the season. One place that is particularly close to us is Cala Egos.
After winter storms, the sea often brings plastic and debris to shore. While many of these residues seem small, their impact can be long-lasting if they return to the water and break down into microplastics.
For this reason, we regularly dedicate time to cleaning Cala Egos, removing plastics and waste that have been washed ashore. It is not a large-scale operation. It is simply a conscious and consistent effort to prevent these materials from re-entering the sea.
Microplastics are one of the greatest threats to marine life. Preventing waste from returning to the water is a simple but meaningful way to protect the ecosystem that surrounds Mallorca.
We do not see this as a marketing action or a seasonal campaign. It is a natural extension of how we understand boating.
Operating in such a privileged environment carries responsibility. The Mediterranean gives us extraordinary landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and hidden coves that define the Prima Boats experience. Giving something back, even through small actions, feels necessary. Every small gesture counts. And when it comes to the sea, small gestures can make a real difference.
Yacht charter and boat rental are about freedom, exploration, and enjoyment. But they are also about awareness. More and more travelers value companies that understand their environmental impact and take steps, however modest, to reduce it. For us, sustainability is not a label — it is part of our daily mindset.
Respecting speed limits near the coast, promoting responsible anchoring practices, and maintaining our fleet with care are all part of that commitment. Winter beach clean-ups are simply another expression of the same philosophy.
Being based in Port d’Andratx means being surrounded by one of the most beautiful coastlines in Mallorca. Cala Llamp, Sant Elm, Sa Dragonera and the many hidden coves of the southwest are not just destinations for our clients — they are part of our everyday life. Protecting this environment ensures that future generations can continue to experience Mallorca from the sea in the same way we do today.
At Prima Boats, boat and Yacht charter in Mallorca, we believe that enjoying the Mediterranean and protecting it should go hand in hand. Because true luxury is not only about the experience — it is about preserving the place that makes that experience possible.
